This is a First Flush Darjeeling (harvest time March to April), which is the best quality available. Only the first 8 to 12 pickings in early spring are used. The name comes from the region it grows, in the northeast of India, on the southern slopes of the Himalaya. The city is surrounded by 87 tea gardens, ours is from the established tea gardens Singell and Seeyok. As this tea is only grown there, supply is limited.
